Microsoft Fabric enables a highly integrated data platform design

Fascinating to see how Microsoft Fabric enables a highly integrated data platform design. Recently explored an architecture that really showcases this:
📍 It’s built around a Lakehouse model using a Medallion (Bronze/Silver/Gold) pattern within Fabric’s OneLake.
📍 Ingestion uses both Data Factory for batch/copy and the newer Mirroring feature for streaming data.
📍 Processing relies on Synapse Data Engineering notebooks/jobs within the Fabric workspace.
📍 Crucially, automation is driven by Fabric’s REST APIs interacting with a central metadata layer.
📍 Governance isn’t an afterthought – Microsoft Purview is tightly integrated for oversight.
📍 Orchestration currently uses Data Factory, with plans to move towards event-driven patterns (Event Streams/Activator).
📍 Observability is handled via Data Factory and Real-Time Intelligence.
📍 Standard practices like Azure DevOps for CI/CD are also incorporated.

It’s a great illustration of how Fabric aims to unify data storage, processing, governance, and automation to streamline end-to-end data management.
